“The sense of togetherness the competition brought to Stafford was incredible, and I couldn’t be prouder of and grateful to everyone who took part. It was fantastic seeing the level of excitement and pride from both the people onstage and offstage. From the Year 12s and 13s helping us organise things like backstage and hair and makeup, dance, tech, and band, to the Year 7s eager to take part, I’m immensely thankful.” – Andrea (House Captain of Stafford)

Stafford’s performance, “Nicole”, tells the story of a young starstruck girl who was desperate to break into the industry and become a famous actress. It was all she could dream about ever since she first laid eyes on Myla, a famous actress that she idolises. She works hard to reach her goal and eventually attains it, but at the risk of losing her spark and passion for acting. Was this truly what she wanted after all?

“I think I speak for a lot of students when I say that House Arts is a main highlight of the year, especially for girls whose passions lie in the creatives. Every year it’s amazing to see how original each house is, I always feel that every year Stafford offers a fresh new outlook on the chosen theme. Personally, acting is always a fun activity and I think this year we, as a house, played around a lot with comedy and ad lib, which is testament to the camaraderie and friendships that have been built up over the years. My highlight was definitely seeing my face printed on movie posters that flew into the crowd, it was certainly not an everyday experience!” – Millie, Year 12

Stafford’s House Arts’ performance this year was phenomenal, with a brilliant cast and team, which led to their win of the Best House Acting Award and Poppy Walker’s entertaining and exciting solo dance leading to her win of Best Solo Dance Performance. Careful planning and organisation were evident throughout the performance, perfectly encapsulating the theme “Movie Magic”, in a unique and imaginative way, enticing the audience into a world of fame and stardom.
