“House Arts was a stressful but exciting time. It was wonderful to see everyone in Paget House come together and take part in this production. A massive well done to all in band, tech and dance, for winning house awards. And a massive well done to Lily Cooper for winning the Solo Music Award. I am proud of everyone who sacrificed their time to be a part of the production.” – Daniella (House Captain of Paget
The performance tells the story of Lily, a young aspiring actress, who is a carer for Evelyn (used to be a famous actress in the 1980s). Lily stumbles upon a box of old tapes, that were auditions for Evelyn’s old movies. Lily and Evelyn watch the tapes, and they have then been transformed back into one of Evelyn’s old plays, when Evelyn was in her prime. They go back to reality and Evelyn sadly passes away. Lily finds out from her son, and she is given a box of “magical tapes”. Evelyn returns as a spirit, telling her that she may be gone but the magic never fades, giving her courage to carry on with her dream.
“Being up on stage and being able to perform in amazingly choreographed group and solo dances, was an experience unlike any other. To witness the culmination of our hard work come to life on stage and being able to perform not just for the audience but for ourselves with true enjoyment is a memory I will cherish. Thank you, Paget!”- Simran, Year 12
Without a doubt, Paget pulled off a fantastic House Arts performance this year, filled with beautiful group dances and solos, with a beautiful violin solo by Lily Cooper at the beginning of the performance. Paget indefinitely brought to life “Movie Magic” onto the stage and rightly won a vast number of House Awards, leaving the audience in awe each time they took to the stage.
‘P-A-G-E-T we’re the house they want to beat! Go Paget Woo Woo! Go Paget Woo Woo!’
